Local Kolhapuri Rivalry
It is historic
part of the kolhapur city that what emotions arch rivals
Pakistan and India or Australia and New Zealand are showing on
the cricket ground, that same is seen in the two areas
Mangalwar Peth and Shivaji Peth and this rivalry is extended
from football grounds to the expression of strength even
during the "Visarjan Procession" of Lord Ganesha. This display
of strength is full of jealousy and persistence. This year
Patkakadil Talim Mandal [PTM] is celebrating "Century
Celebration" hence this rivalry is touching never before
heights. All the citizens are looking forward with deep
interest and anxiety towards this war of two areas.
It will be interesting that on the bases of youth powers this
war is creating a different and significant image of "Visarjan
Process". Latest Tarun Mandal [Gulab Galli] and Subrao Gavali
Talim Mandal [Practice Club] are also able to create an image
on the minds of people and are considered as important part of
"Visarjan Procession" in the Kolhapur city. It is almost a
tradition that Blue Yellow flages of PMT always succeeded in
attracting attentions of majority of peoples. Without mentions
of Musical procession of Hindavi Sports of Shivaji Peth, dance
procession of Tatakadil Talim of same area, Vetalmal Talimand
Khandoba Talim are the front runners on the front of power
display during the "Visarjan Procession".
This year being the year of century celebration for the PMT
hence they are preparing to come in big way and not only
Shivaji Peth but whole the city is is full of many hoarding
and banners. It is said that this year their procession will
contain multi colored attractive light decoration and DJ Dolby
but almost precautions are being taken to keep secret their
prime attraction.
To face this challenge others are not far behind in the race
it is said that Hindavi sports is planning for flower shower
from helicopter on the route of procession where as others are
keeping the tight lips about their attraction of procession.
This all is creating suspense and creating a different kind of
anxiety among the citizens. All are eagerly waiting to see who
is going to win this rivalry war on Wednesday 25th September.
But one thing for
sure in all this KOLHAPUR is going to get one great
celebration to remember for a life time.
